The part of you that worries, the part that shuts down, the part that criticizes everything you do. IFS helps you understand them instead of silencing them.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a way of working with the different "parts" of you. You already know them: the one that pushes you to do more, the one that wants to hide, the one that says something harsh when you make a mistake.
The idea behind IFS is that none of these parts is the enemy. Each one developed for a reason, usually to protect you, even when the way it does that now makes life harder. Instead of trying to get rid of them, we get to know them.
Underneath all of those parts is a steadier, more curious you. IFS helps you get closer to that place, so the anxious or critical parts don't have to run the show.
You don't need to know anything about IFS before we start. Curiosity is enough.
We start with what's present right now: a feeling, a thought, a sensation in your body.
We ask what it's trying to do for you and what it's afraid would happen if it stopped.
As it feels understood, it often loosens its grip, and you get more choice in how you respond.
You're awake and in control the whole time. This isn't hypnosis, and you don't have to relive anything you're not ready to face.
I don't use IFS on its own. I pair it with Coherence Therapy, which looks for the hidden logic behind a pattern, and with somatic-based therapy, which works with what your body is holding, not just what your mind can explain.
Together, these help you move out of your head and into real, felt change. IFS is also a good fit for the concerns many of my clients bring, including trauma, anxiety, depression, self-worth, and relationship patterns.
Many of my clients have been told how "self-aware and strong" they are, but feel stuck and disconnected from themselves. They need more than typical talk therapy, and they're ready to try a different approach.
I don't bring a polished, distant version of myself into the therapy room. I bring the real one, someone who gets what it's like to be doing a lot, feeling a lot, and still showing up anyway.
I can't wait to connect with you.

No. In IFS, having different parts is understood as a normal feature of every mind, the same way you can feel torn about a decision. Nothing is wrong with you for having them.
No. Many people start out skeptical. "Parts" is simply a useful way of describing inner experience you already have, like the voice that criticizes you or the side of you that goes quiet.
Not before you're ready. We go at a pace that feels safe, and you stay in charge of how deep we go and when.
